An Electrifying RAM!
Earlier this year, the American manufacturer launched the RAM 1500 REV for late 2024. This 100% electric model will be powered by a 168 kWh or 229 kWh battery (optional). The REV's range is estimated at around 800 km.
Today, the manufacturer is going one step further, announcing with great fanfare a brand-new RAM truck, the Ramcharger. It, too, will be 100% electric, the main difference being that it will rely on a combustion engine to act as a generator for extended range.
The Ramcharger's battery will be smaller than that of the RAM REV, and will power two electric motors totalling 663 hp and an extremely generous 615 lb-ft of torque. With this mill, the 2025 RAM Canada will do 0-100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds!
What's even more impressive is its range. We're talking 1110 km before having to recharge. What's more, the truck's battery can be recharged while driving by a generator, "in this case a 3.6 L V6 specially adapted for this purpose".
Guillaume Rivard, in Le Guide de l'auto, goes further when he talks about the 2025 Ramcharger's prowess:
"Another important point: the stored energy can be used not only to move the truck, but also to recharge another vehicle or power a house in the event of a power cut, for example, via a two-way charging system. An electrical panel in the body provides up to 7.2 kW of power."
Finally, it's good to know that the truck can be connected to a fast-charging station. Initial figures indicate that it will gain 80 km of range in just 10 minutes. Innovation at its best from the American manufacturer!

Although this is a 100% electric Ramcharger for sale, it will be available in several trim levels, such as the Tradesman, Big Horn Laramie, or the more upscale Limited and Tungsten. The price of this new truck is not yet known. Further information will follow. One thing is certain: the American manufacturer will continue to supply the vehicle with sought-after materials.
