Interior of the new Dodge Hornet 2023

At first glance, there is no doubt: it is a Dodge vehicle. With its rugged, boxy shape and sculpted hood, it looks a little like a Durango.

Inside, you’ll find a sporty-looking cabin that is virtually identical to the Tonale’s:

  • Red contrast stitching
  • Optional black or red leather
  • 10.25-inch center screen
  • 12.3-inch instrumentation

The entry-level Hornet GT is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.

However, it’s the plug-in hybrid that steals the show! Combining a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine and a 15-kWh battery, it sends out 285 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. It can also run in all-electric mode for 50 km or send 25 temporary horsepower with the PowerShot function.

Current Dodge SUV reviews, namely on the Durango, highlight its fuel consumption, the newcomer makes a green shift that will surely be welcomed.

Considering its performance, as Daniel Rufiange wrote for Auto123:

Since it shares many of its components with Alfa Romeo’s Tonale [...], it is promising in terms of behavior.”

The hybrid model will be available at your Dodge dealership starting in the spring of 2023. Find your ideal vehicle at Trois Diamants, your dealer in Mascouche, near Highway 640 and Route 337.
